Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Jobs – Sr. Database Administrator

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate advanced understanding of business processes being supported by assigned system(s).
• Provide expertise in project focused software application development, administration, and support related to data warehousing and analytics.
• Manage resolution of problems and escalate as required.
• Design, develop, test, support and administer data warehousing applications and processes with Teradata or big data platforms.
• Implement physical data models at a project, or corporate level.
• Provide general technical support to Services and Development groups.
• Provide leadership as a communications liaison between the business Customer and the technology development and support groups.
• Provide leadership to design, create, implement, and support complex databases to meet project and system design requirements.
• Develop volume and cost estimates.
• Recommend database and system management tools as required.
• Provide leadership and coaching for team.
• Provide leadership in key interactions with business Customers to define, analyze, and deliver Customer requirements.
• Responsible for data integration with data targets and sources of databases, flat files, XML, and JSON files.
• Plan tests for new products and database engine releases to ensure features and functions are acceptable and integrated across systems software and platforms.
• Design and develop SQL queries, stored procedures and tuning workloads.
• Work across projects to synchronize data analysis efforts and deliverables.
• Plan and manage project activities within allocated resources.
• Independently research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution.
• Proactively investigate and troubleshoot database, technical and systems problems and direct and assure corrective action.
• Support the organization’s project management policy, practice, and methodology.
• Develop time estimates for project schedules, monitor progress, and provide accurate and timely reports.
• Analyze and resolve complex or multiple problems.
• Create, document, administer, and document database backup and recovery plans, capacity plans and security plans to meet project requirements.
• Implement complex changes to existing databases. Provide leadership for installation and configuration of new database engines and upgrades to new product releases.
• Focus on internal and external Customer requirements.
• Analyze and resolve highly complex problems.
• Employ productivity aids in all aspects of assignments.

Job Requirements:

• Must have ability to work from home.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field followed by 7 years of progressive experience with project focused software application development, administration, and support related to data warehousing and analytics.
• 5 years of experience with advanced analytics.
• Experience therein to include 5 years of experience in data integration with data targets and sources of databases, flat files, XML, and JSON files.
• 7 years of experience in design, development, testing, support and administration of data warehousing applications and processes with Teradata or big data platforms.
• 7 years of data warehousing experience designing and developing SQL queries, stored procedures and tuning workloads.
