Job Description:

The Vacations Sourcing Consultant is responsible for supporting business development and ongoing management of partners to deliver desired product offering. In addition, the person will provide key inputs into negotiations with lodging, ground transportation, experience, and other vacations package partners in our largest markets. The role will work closely with other members of the Vacations organization and other departments such as Supply Chain Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Legal, and Vacations Customer Ops.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that partner contracts are accurately integrated into Vacations booking engine and Customer user interfaces
  • Helps to resolve back-end issues such as payments to partners and adherence to contractual terms
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
  • Works closely with the Senior Manager of Vacations Sourcing for a major market to build and maintain partner relationships with lodging, ground transportation, experiences, and other Vacations component partners
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
  • Works to continually understand the evolving Vacations marketplace and their assigned market(s) to identify new, innovative product and collaboration opportunities
  • Builds and maintains relationships with select partners for a specific market, such as a specific hotel, to ensure alignment with business vision and objectives
  • Provides input into partner negotiations as needed, including quantitative analysis
  • Liaises between Southwest Teams and partners, including the Southwest Vacations Customer Operations Team to address any safety and/or quality concerns
  • Monitors partner performance and escalates concerns as necessary to Senior Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to understand corporate financial analysis and financial statement
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues in a structured and concise manner
  • Must have proven problem-solving and storytelling skills
  • Must have the ability to contend with a range and complexity of large business problems
  • Must have strong People-influencing skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, written and verbally
  • Must have the ability to work under stressful situations from tight deadlines and competing priorities and manage time effectively
  • Ability to project poise, confidence, and maturity in both internal and external situations
  • Must have proven analytical and quantitative skills; experience with spreadsheets or other quantitative modeling

Qualification & Experience:

  • Preferred: Experience with or working for a vacations or lodging entity
  • Required: 6 years experience in a related field or, 4 years experience with an advanced degree
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
