Sappi Vacancies Ngodwana – Maintenance Mechanical

Job Description:

Sappi Ngodwana Mill requires a Maintenance Support Mechanical (Foreman) to supervise assigned skilled trades people and coordinate the safe performance of maintenance tasks and related activities contributing to the overall equipment effectiveness. This role reports to the Head of Maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all time
• Investigate SHEQ incidents and identify root causes of non-conformances and correct deviations
• Perform standby duties and work overtime as required
• Communicate with the internal and external suppliers and customers as and when required
• Develop procedures and quality documentation to ensure ongoing process and continuous Improvement for the area of responsibility
• Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and or records for the purpose of providing up-to-date references and complying with regulatory requirements
• Recruit maintenance staff that complies with the company’s Job Profile and Job Specifications
• Assess the equipment, materials and labour needed to complete large and or complex maintenance tasks ensuring that maintenance activities meet strict standards
• Collaborate with others implementing and maintaining services and or programs in area of responsibility
• Monitor subordinate’s performance against Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements and correct non-conformances
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
• Maintain assigned tools, equipment and vehicles ensuring their availability as needed to meet assigned maintenance objectives

Job Requirements:

• SAP knowledge advantageous
• Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
• Valid driving license
• Recognised Trade Certificate (Manpower/Seta accredited)

Qualification & Experience:

• Pulp and Paper industry experience advantageous
• Post Matric Certificate / Diploma / NQFlevel 5 – 6
• 3 – 5 years’ plant operations experience
