Job Description:

Sappi Ngodwana Mill requires an ELECTRICIAN to provide electrical services with a specific responsibility regarding installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site. This role reports into the Maintenance Support/ Superintendent

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure optimum plant availability by efficient diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment
• Required to work standby and overtime as required
• Inspect electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
• Inspect and diagnose AC and DC motors in running and stopped status
• Take out work permit according to Sappi policy and assist production personnel with isolation process where required
• Install, tests, connects, commissions, maintains and modifies electrical equipment, wiring and control systems
• Knowledge sharing within and across teams
• Understands the SHEQ requirements of the Section
• Coordinate with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently
• Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all time
• Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information

Job Requirements:

• Valid Driving Licence
• Recognisd Trade Test Certificate as an Electrician

Qualification & Experience:

• 2 years Post Apprentice Experience with a focus on electrical fault finding in a heavy industrial environment will be advantageous
• Grade 12 / N3 Engineering
