Job Description:

Santam Claims department has a position available for a Team Manager: Claims Service Consultants based in Constantia Kloof, Weltervreden Johannesburg. The incumbent will need to have a detailed understanding of all current and new processes and initiatives to guide the team positively and to provide consistent and excellent service to our clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for management of service levels and quality of claims.
• Managing staff related matters
• Compiling, analysing, and submitting reports as required
• Signing off rejections
• Submitting and analysing reports and taking corrective action
• Complaints handling and resolution
• Responsible for the continuous development and performance of reporting Team
• Build and maintain relationships with Santam’s claims suppliers and service providers.
• Meet the prescribed client delight satisfaction and net promoter scores.
• Improving operational efficiency of team of claims service consultants
• Conducting staff performance appraisals
• Identifying training needs
• The incumbent will be specifically responsible for execution and building relationships across divisions, external stakeholders and intermediaries.
• Any ad hoc projects
• Influencing and fostering a culture of performance aimed at world class service.
• Implement company policy and procedure

Job Requirements:

• Insurance product and process knowledge
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent negotiation skills
• Knowledge of claims processes and claims handling skills
• Ability to articulate complex or technical concepts and issues in business terms.
• Administrative and Financial skills with the ability to set and manage a budget
• Have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally both written and verbal (English essential)
• Be able to prioritise work and work under pressure
• Knowledge of motor and non – motor claims processes
• Be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Insurance product and process knowledge
• Strong conflict management
• Have great attention to detail

Qualification & Experience:

• Have 5 years’ experience at supervisory or management level and be able to work independently
• Sound people management experience
• Insurance related qualification
• Be FAIS Compliant for Personal Lines and have passed RE1 exam
• Experience with working on Audatex, Symbility.
• Matric/Grade 12
• Sound claims management experience in the short-term insurance industry
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the claims environment (short term insurance)
• Experience in working with high net worth portfolios
