Job Description:

The Ontario Internal Audit Division (OIAD)’s Data Analytics Centre of Excellence, in the Treasury Board Secretariat, is looking for motivated professionals to join our team and provide expertise in the field of data analysis to enable greater data analytics integration as part of OIAD’s audit, advisory and forensic work processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Convey results through the use of data visualization tools;
• Describe data analytics results and procedures performed within OIAD and with other stakeholders;
• Work collaboratively with the Audit Data Analytics Centre of Excellence team members and OIAD audit and forensic specialists;
• Lead the data modelling, insights, visualization, process transformation and stakeholder liaison across the Ontario Internal Audit Division (OIAD) and within government;
• Assist audit/forensic specialists in planning engagements, including common tools and techniques for developing hypotheses and thinking about data;
• Lead consultations with various internal and external stakeholders.

• You have an understanding of various data structures and common methods in data transformation and data modelling and pattern recognition;
• You have knowledge of audit fieldwork/information collection, forensic/investigative techniques, and/or accounting principles and practices;
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide advice and present results to various audiences;
• You have problem-solving and decision-making skills;
• You can design and conduct research and utilize organizational skills to manage information within a complex work environment;
• You are proficient using programming languages such as Python/R/SQL to conduct analysis, develop queries, write scripts, or design models for analysis;
• You demonstrate strong listening skills;
• You can effectively explain technical results to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• You are proficient using programming languages such as Python/R/SQL to conduct analysis, develop queries, write scripts, or design models for analysis.

Qualification & Experience:

• You have experience applying data analytic visualization tools, including Tableau and MS Power BI.
• You have experience applying data analysis and modelling techniques using analytical and logical reasoning;
• You demonstrate extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis;
