Ministry of Justice Careers – Events Manager

Job Description:

The Office of the Public Guardian is looking for an ambitious events and engagement manager to join its award-winning communications team. This role is varied, and you will be instrumental in building relationships with a broad range of organisations – ensuring we communicate with them in the right way, at the right time. You will help generate awareness and understanding of high-profile campaigns and key projects, advising on the best approach to stakeholder engagement. We’re looking for someone with excellent relationships management skills and experience in the planning, production, promotion and evaluation of events.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with other team members to develop, deliver and evaluate high-profile campaigns and strategic communications against clear objectives, outcomes and time frames
• Work with colleagues, in the team and across the business, to create creative content for stakeholders to disseminate through their channels and networks
• Ensure OPG’s reputation is enhanced with our external partners by ensuring key messaging is consistent and reflects both OPG’s and the Ministry of Justice’s corporate narrative
• Identify opportunities to engage with our stakeholders through external communications and events
• Develop and manage strong relationships with our stakeholders to deliver our priority campaigns and projects
• Evaluate the impact of engagement and event activity against communications objectives

Job Requirements:

• You demonstrate confidence in advising and influencing people at all levels
• You are exceptionally organised with the capability to manage emerging and conflicting demands in a changing environment and to collaborate across the business to achieve success
• You can tailor communications to suit your audience to maximise impact and understanding
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting your recommendations and proposals professionally and persuasively to key stakeholders.
• You can create engaging content for internal and external audiences and have a willingness to explore new approaches based on trends and best practice in communications and external affairs

Qualification & Experience:

• You have experience in collaborating with colleagues inside and outside your organisation to deliver the best results for the department, building relationships with other government departments (or similar organisations) and external organisations.
• You should have previous experience of managing events from strategic planning through to event production, promotion and evaluation
