Job Description:
A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Renal Qualified/Experienced based at Life Anncron Renal – Klerksdorp, reporting to Unit Manager, Marialda Roux. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to renal patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the customer in line with Company & Hospital strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Continual communication with the patient and family with regards to the patient’s condition
- Review and comply with internal policies and protocols
- Control and manage staff hours leave in accordance with the company policy
- Ensuring quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to the unit specification
- Promoting a safe and healthy working environment by completing alerts and incident reports to the line manager and Quality manager.
- Ensuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements
- Check equipment and instrumentation are in working condition on a daily basis and report any defaults to Unit Manager and Clinical Engineer
- Educate and supervise staff and doctors on the correct utilisation of specialised equipment and instrumentation
- Ensuring records and accurately completed and stored in accordance with legal and ethical requirements
- Provide training and development to ensure personal and professional growth
- Advocate the patient by motivating acuity to the case management and notify the doctor of any limitations
- Managing all stock used according to unit specific policies and protocols
- Administering of medication in accordance to ethical, legal framework
- Execute doctors’ requests and prescriptions after patient rounds
- Ensure the Renal team works according to the scope of practice in order to ensure the correct skills mix is utilised
- Assisting in multi-disciplinary team members with the execution of their duties
- Conducting in-service orientation on doctor specific preferences
- Maintain a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager
- Give feedback to the unit manager in order to assess optimal performance
Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to fulfill a role in the unit according to the flexi-hours system and acute dialysis call system
- Verbal & written communication and presentation
- Resilience
- Problem-solving, analysis and judgement
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
- Computer proficiency would be an advantage
- Registration with SANC
- Own vehicle and a valid license for acute dialysis

Qualification & Experience:
- General Nursing Degree / Diploma
- Relevant experience and technical skill to meet the critical outputs
- Nursing experience in Renal; ability to administer both acute and chronic dialysis treatments
- Diploma in Speciality
