Job Description:

The overall purpose of this position is to liaise with business and the Research and Development Team, forge and sustain good relations, gain an in-depth business and applications understanding as well as maintain and grow existing business by enhancing processes to provide efficiency. The incumbent’s role would be to analyse, propose and present integrated solutions to both existing and new applications; which represents the full spectrum the Group’s offering. Responsible for delivering and managing a portfolio of complex IT projects across different geographies, on time, within budget, ensuring all the objectives and quality standards of the project are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Managing large and diverse teams
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Delegate project tasks based on staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Showing knowledge of standard accounting procedures
  • Professional and well presented at all times
  • Effective presentation, documentation and report writing skills.
  • Solid communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required to interact with colleagues and clients both at a high-level (“big picture”) and at a detailed-level (“technical”).
  • Ability to play an integral part in project delivery given tight constraints and uncompromising quality
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proving strong quantitative abilities
  • Must be prepared to travel
  • Keen interest in understanding new technologies and solving problems.
  • Reliable car
  • Excellent analytical, multi-tasking, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and for extended hours, if required

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5 years of proven track record of working as Project Manager on Finance and IT projects
  • Post Matric Qualification Grade 12 (minimum)
  • Project Management Certification
