Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the business process redesign
  • Translate high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IM organization and manage changes to such specifications. Demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Partner with senior management to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IM to achieve the goals of the business
  • Ensure delivery of new services and systems are sustainable by executing service introduction processes
  • Compile relevant project schedule for next 3 years with appropriate business support and be able to present the projects at the investment committees to secure capital
  • Ensure effective Mining Technical Systems license management to remain compliant
  • Formalize a plan to reduce complexity in the current environment
  • Participate in the annual budget process to include all relevant budget items for effective delivery
  • Coordinate communication with all areas of the business that impact the project scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
  • Analyze business partner’s operation to determine opportunities to streamline or automate processes and functions
  • Ensure effective reporting of all highlights, cost savings, challenges and focus areas for S,W&E
  • Understand overall IM strategy and the implication this may have for Safety, Water and Environment – Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business and IM from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Own the IM enablement of Safety, Water and Environment
  • Understand technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge
  • Develop project plans and teamwork assignments, direct and monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identify resource needs, perform quality review; and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
  • Provide effective stakeholder feedback through agreed forums and escalation management
  • Compile application roadmap(s) for Safety, Water and Environment applications
  • Follow relevant forecasting processes for annual Mining Technical Systems License renewals
  • Educate the IM organization on the direction of the business and align the IM strategy to the business direction
  • Manage third party vendors, ensure they are meeting or exceeding their contractual commitments for services and projects

Qualification & Experience:

  • Desirable: It would be advantageous to have a postgraduate qualification in the relevant IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
  • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM Discipline.
