Job Description:

We have an exciting position for Fitter (Fixed Term Contract) who will perform ad hoc mechanical maintenance on equipment and machinery in a safe and cost-effective manner to maximise equipment reliability and availability, whilst enabling the achievement of production targets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensuring proper communication and handover on outstanding tasks between shifts and day shift teams
• Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required to do repairs to the Supervisor to enable applicable decision-making, action planning and problem resolution.
• Ensuring work is executed as per Operating Model standards & procedures
• Providing accurate and understandable information as well as continuous on-the-job training to assist learner / team member to acquire the required competencies and address any shortcomings.
• Providing assistance to supervisor and co-workers when required within company policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance teamwork objectives
• Ensure effective maintenance of plant equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilization and availability toward maximizing production and throughput schedules.
• Ensuring job cards are completed in full and returned back on time
• Maintaining and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability, and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
• Adhering to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
• Conducting inspections to identity possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs
• Ensuring all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition

Job Requirements:

• Code 08 Drivers Licence

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualified as an Artisan – Fitter
• 1-2 Years’ experience as an Artisan
• N2 Engineering Qualification
• Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
