Job Description:
As a Metallurgical Technical Engineer, you will be responsible to control the plant within the technical recipe defined. Ensure technical audit of the plant is conducted to required standards. Provide technical support to production manager of plant operations. Ensure that recommendations as to plant improvement are considered in the “recipe” review process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recommend technical corrective action to operation’s production personnel
- Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships
- Project execution of agreed audit work & plant surveys (plant diagnostics)
- Monitor, Trend, Interpret and Report Key Process Parameters
- Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement
- Ongoing support to plant production team to achieve operational goals
- Manage metallurgical talent assigned to technical function in own area
- Site Metal Accounting and general management of the process laboratory
- Monitor, Trend, Interpret, and Report plant Key Process Parameters for discussion with central technical structure
- Support the SHE objectives of the operation within the technical space
- Supporting Plant Production Manager
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
Qualification & Experience:
- Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous
- Experience with metallurgical smelting operations will be advantageous
- 5 years or more post qualification experience in technical management of metallurgy processes or development projects
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
